Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: [Effective date]
HiVouch only works when people trust it. These rules keep it safe for end users and for the businesses that depend on it.
1. Purpose
This policy protects end users, our customers, Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and HiVouch. It applies to everyone who uses the Service, including your team and anyone you let use your account or API keys. It forms part of the Terms of Service.
2. Consent of the person being verified
HiVouch only works when a person sends a message from their own phone number. You must not:
- start a verification for a phone number without that person's knowledge and consent;
- use the Service to find out whether a number has WhatsApp, to collect numbers, or to build contact lists;
- trick, pressure or pay people to send verification messages they do not understand;
- use a verification for a purpose other than the one you told the person.
3. No spam or unwanted messages
- Do not use the Service to send, provoke or amplify unsolicited, bulk or promotional messages.
- Do not ask users to send messages to a HiVouch number for any reason other than completing a verification.
- Do not use the Service to harass, threaten or deceive anyone.
4. WhatsApp and Meta policies
You must follow the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, the WhatsApp Business Terms of Service and any other Meta rule that applies to the Service. You must not:
- do anything intended to get around, disable or evade Meta's limits, quality ratings, blocks or enforcement;
- use the Service for businesses, goods or services Meta prohibits;
- use automation, bots or scripts to send messages that imitate real users;
- give false information when you apply for a custom number.
5. Fraud and abuse
- No fraud, impersonation, account takeover, or use of the Service to hide the origin of a person or a number.
- Do not verify numbers you do not control, including by using SIM farms, number rental services or virtual numbers to create fake users at scale.
- Do not use the Service to bypass another service's fraud or identity controls.
- Do not abuse promo codes, free daily verifications or refunds, for example by opening several accounts to get free usage.
6. Security and fair use
- Do not probe, scan or test the Service for weaknesses without our written permission. Report vulnerabilities to support@hivouch.com.
- Do not try to access another customer's data, or interfere with the Service.
- Do not share API keys publicly or embed secret keys in client-side code.
- Do not use the Service to break the law, including laws on privacy, sanctions and export, or to share illegal content.
7. Rate and abuse limits
We apply rate limits and abuse controls to protect the Service, per account, per API key, per phone number and per IP address. When you reach a limit the API returns an error and you should retry as the response says. We may adjust limits, and we may block traffic that looks like abuse, such as repeated attempts for the same number or sudden floods of requests. Contact support@hivouch.com if you expect a legitimate spike.
8. Suspension and enforcement
If we believe you have broken this policy, or if Meta, a regulator or the law requires it, we may:
- block individual requests or limit your usage;
- suspend or end your account, a custom number or an API key, with or without notice depending on the risk;
- report the matter to Meta, to the authorities or to affected parties.
Where it is safe to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem.
9. Reporting abuse
If you think someone is using HiVouch to harm you or others, write to support@hivouch.com with the phone number involved and what happened. For legal matters write to legal@hivouch.com.
